Buying a mobile in America

    If i buy a mobile in the states, just a general Nokia or whatever, will it work over here? Besides having to get it unlocked, if i just put the sim in will it work?

    You would need to make sure that it is GSM 900 /1800 compatible as that is the frequency that Ireland/Europe uses.America would use a totally different frequency 850 /1900

    I'd say that most new nokia phones would be compatible but make doubly sure!!:p
