    Hi Everybody,

Quick question, i had a load of music on an external hard drive, i copied it all over to my PS3, the external hard drive has since died.

So i thought i could connect another new external hard drive to the the ps3, select music , (Triangle) and copy back to new external hard drive. But the option isnt available to COPY.

    Any ideas?

    Ed

I hd to copy some music files off my ps3 a while back.I had to clean my computer and i had lost the files in the process. Was there a usb flash drive inserted when you were checking for a copy option??It may only come up if it has something to copy to

Just tried copying to a usb stick and it worked perfectly for me... Are you going into the album and selecting tracks from there, or doing it from the main music menu?

I tried both i think, depends which way you have it sorted i guess.

I will have to try it when i get home.

It would be better if i could copy everything (all music) rather than do it track by track or album by album.

You can copy all at once just press triangle then use 'copy multiple' instead of just 'copy'

Thanks Dr Evil , i needed a folder called "Music" on the root of the hard drive before it would let me copy, strange one but it works now.

Im gonna have to go through each artist and selct what i want really, lots of crap in there. When you say "copy multiple" i see what you mean.

Sort to "All" first to put it track by track and then "copy multiple" is up the top, you then get to "select all" or each track you want.

    4091 tracks to go

Very strange... I was going to suggest that, but then tried copying music to my usb key and didn't need to do that myself:confused:

I suppose at least its putting all the tracks into a folder.
Only problem there is they aint sorted, just 4091 tracks . Dang

Best thing about copying an artist name folder from the PS3 is that it goes into the music folder on the external and creates a folder with the artists name.

Thats me copying and pasting for the day.
