Just wondering if someone can help.

I have heard about using "plugs" to transmit the broadband signal internally in a hourse. Has anyone heard of this.

I have tried searching for it but not getting any hits of note.

    Thanks,
    Johnnio

I've been using them for a couple of years.
    Very handy things.
    Try these ones:

You don't need 200MB/s ones for broadband the 85MB/s ones are more than enough.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but just make sure you buy a kit with 2 of them.

out of curiosity do you need to use the same brand/model throughout the house or can you mix and match. Just something to keep in mind if you need the same brand/model when designing a home network.

They should be inter-operable but that's a big SHOULD. Haven't tried using different brands of them together so can't answer you directly that it will work!

I have Solwise ones and my parents have different a different brand, possibly Netgear, and they work together.
I'd say its a safe enough bet but as mentioned above I wouldn't stake my life on it.

    Cheers guys,

Bought a Devolo set and then bought a third one, but can't get the new one to talk to the older ones. Devolo have sent through a test for me to do but that still is not working.
    Just an FYI.
