iPod Touch - stops playing all the time

Hi,
just wondering has anyone else experienced this?

When I choose, say, an album, and select Play, it cuts out within a couple of minutes, sometimes even after a couple of seconds, and returns to home screen.

But when I select Shuffle (all songs) it goes fine.

What the...?

Noticed this with fairly long podcasts and the 1.x firmware. Are you running the latest version (released in the past day or so)?

I bought upgrade a few weeks back (7.99) on iTunes that allows new apps etc.

Is this the one you mean?

(I'm not too up on these things)

Yes, that's the latest one (well, there was a minor release after this paid-for purchase). What format is your music in; AAC, mp3, m4a, other? Variable bit rates or constant?

2.0.1 was released yesterday. Install that and see if it makes any difference.

ethernet, i'm not really sure re format. stuff has come onto my itunes from every angle.

there was a moment a while back where i chose to allow a particular format and it duplicated almost all of my songs

i had to delete manually.

sorry i'm not being more specific as you are trying to help but posting from work and itunes is at home.

This has come up a few times. Perhaps someone has given the cause on Apple's forums? Don't recall reading any in here, bar the one I suggested.
