Could anybody let me know their experiences from the last few years with getting up and running on an IRCSET grant? I got a confirmation from them a couple of months ago that i had secured the grant, but have heard nothing since. I'm just interested to hear if people had hassles getting it set up at the start, was it messy…

I got a confirmation from them a couple of months ago that i had secured the grant, but have heard nothing since.

I'm just interested to hear if people had hassles getting it set up at the start, was it messy getting their funding transferred to them through their university, how long it all took etc etc.

Obviously I will contact IRCSET to try to find out about timelines, but it's often easier to get the real story from other students!

IRCSET have a very involved applications process. Make sure that your personal statement and referees report are up to scratch, as they seem to weight it quite high compared to the research plan.
