Thought there'd be something about this by now... especially with all the hype.
Was expecting something good (how silly of me..) and was left thoughly disappointed.
The acting was utter garbage... script atrocious, and 'comedy' value non existant.
It got to the stage I just watched it to see how bad it could be!
The one bit I almost laughed when they did the song bits as he fooled people thinking he was a shrink (I Will Survive), but they totally overdid it and ruined it with overkill. It was if that was the only funny bit, and they tried to script a story around it!

Seemed to be a total over use and 'coolness' of smoking also... notice how the first meeting of the two leads was at a ciggy machine as she was on her knees trying to get some out, and our 'knight in shining armour' arrived on the scene with a ciggy to hand? And the three lads always lighting up.

ah, I could go on all day about it

I was disappointed too, but not as much as yourself. Granted, it wasn't great but I at least have to commend RTE for trying their hand at something different.

My problem with it was how forced the 'quirkiness' of our two leads seemed to be. Scenes like scaling the crane or running on the dog tracks or making the egg men seemed so shoehorned in when they so obviously needed to drive the story forward and help us warm to the couple. The plot was riddled with typical rom-com cliché too. From the very moment you saw the butter advert being filmed you knew it was going to be the protagonists downfall. Because of this it was merely a case of waiting for the ad to arrive to cause the inevitable rift between the two that would eventually be mended by their friends.

That said, it was a pretty good cast. It was nice to see Andrew Scott on tv again. Last I'd seen of him was in BBC's My Life In Film, which he was fantastic in.

The soundtrack was the best part of the whole production. A selection box of Irish talent such as Cathy Davey, Julie Feeney, Fionn Regan.

I'd much prefer to see RTE produce drama and comedy like this than yet another garbage celebrity reality show.

yeah, meant to mention this, but go bogged down by my rant.
Lovely choice of music, and was one of the main reasons I kept watching (listening, I mean! :P)

Lads, ye were aware this was an RTE production?

And ye expected even the slightest form of entertainment? FOR SHAME! :D

Haha! Strangely enough, I'll continue to live in hope that RTE might produce something that can be amounted to "quality" in the near future.

RTE can at times produce some good drama, the problem is they aren't producing enough of it (I mean drama not good drama).

I have to agree I would rather see them produce a Drama (Good or Bad) then another reality TV show. Espically a Celebrity show, I liked Treasure Island (well as far as Reality TV goes).

For example the two new dramas for RTE could be the next Pure Mule or Batchelor's Walk or could be the next Big Bow Wow. At least if they had maybe 5 new dramas 2 of them might be worth watching.

    Ditto TV3.

I didn't watch Little White Lie, It just looked like another RTE chick drama.
