Hey guys,

Been considering doing a podcast for some time for boards.

Not an iota what to do it on though.

Anyone got any ideas? Perhaps something tied into the Noc forum would be cool.

Boards hosts podcasts for it's users. So I can do a Nocturnal one. Or really anything I want as long as it has a tenuous link to boards!

I think one about creatures of the night, weird nightly happenings and other stuff like that would be cool. Maybe you could get 6th in on it too.

Aye, pubs would be quite loud, possibly too much so to record well...throat mikes? lol
If you're gonna do that though, may as well go full blast, with camo and green berets.

Have a chat with monkeyfudge. He's done podcasts at beers before and we've been able to hear them. He'll be able to tell you how to do it Doom.

Nocturnal Podcasting!

Fellow Nocturnals, lend me your ears!

I have devised a satisfactory, and relatively simple manner through which we can record podcasts. Many of you will know the program Skype. For those of you that do not, it is a free program that enables you to call other people from your pc/laptop. The beauty of it is that the Skype-to-Skype calls are free!

Here's what you'll need:

1) Skype - Download free here
2) A Skype account name - Install and run Skype, it will then guide you through that
3) A decent quality microphone - Be sure to use the Skype test call service to check the quality of your mic, and the volume of it. When you do the test call, your voice should be at an equal volume to that of the woman talking to you (this will make sense when you install it )

Once you have all of these things done, you can PM me with your Skype username, and an idea of the times you would be availible to take part.
Once we have a decent amount of interest we'll organise the first one

Lastly, and you'll have to excuse us for this, but I needed to test the software so myself and my brother (422nd) did a test call. I'm just going to put it up for the laugh, but bear in mind while we were actually recording it we had no intention of using it for anything!

Aye, a decent quality dictaphone would probably suffice at a beers, but you'll never get away with not picking up a large amount of background noise. But still, if anyone has a dictaphone, bring it to the beers!

We could do a "phone in" talkshoe show quite easily from what I hear, but lets focus here and try and formulate a topic for discussion?

Agreed, I would like to have a basis for discussion for any given podcast, rather than just ramblings

Unless it is at a beers or gathering of us nightcrawlers, i wouldnt be able to take part but the topic i can do: How did you find the Nocturnal Forum, what do you think of it, and have you any ideas to enhance it maybe?

Got that off the top of my head there, sounds ok though.
