Google maps 2.0 iphone 1st gen

Have updated to 2.0 with my first gen iPhone. since then google maps have not worked. Have reset and restored, but still the same. Any ideas or anyone have the same issue? Its not jailbroken and just goes back to the main screen after about 3 seconds of trying to start up
