As of 5 minutes ago, when I came across the wikipedia page, I want to devote my life to the conservation of this majestic and undeniably cute animal.

Saw the Red Panda in Dublin Zoo last Friday. They are really cute, but Meerkats are still the best.

Oh my god, that thing is so cool. Meercats have now been officially demoted from the position of coolest animals evar.

Edit: No meercats are still cooler but only a little bit.

I saw the baby red pandas in Dublin zoo. Some of the cutest animals I have ever seeen. They do rock quite hard!

Worst thing about lolmeers is that there are very few pictures of meerkats in wierd positions.

Why this is in the Nocturnal Forum I have no idea, but yeah Red Pandas are so cute!

Why is anything in the Nocturnal Forum?

The primary reason I posted it here was that I was browsing wiki and looking at sleep patterns (hence the thread about diurnality), and listed as an example of a crepuscular animal was the Red Panda. So I dunno, it was destined to be posted here I guess.

Anyway I wasn't saying you shouldn't have posted it or anything. I was just curious why you put it here. I can see your reasoning now.

Oh and "crepuscular" - I like that word. And I so rarely have an oppurtunity to use it in a sentence.

Saw red pandas at Dub zoo last year, their enclosure is ridiculously small.
But they seem content enough I think it's a mum and two of her babies there atm or summit like that. The keeper seems happy enough to chat about them too unlike some who seem to hate their job lol.
So if you go there at feeding time you can talk the ear off him.

The enclosure is small but so are the pandas. They were in great form when I was there, running and climbing and I got a happy vibe off them.


Admittedly I am no expert in panda psychology.

I wonder if you could have them as pets. Yes I probably will end up one of those mad old ladies living on my own in the boglands with lots of strange pets when I'm older!

I concur. Meerkats come first, red pandas second.

I vote that meerkats become the animal of the nocturnal forum, even though they're not nocturnal!

Another good nocturnal forum animal would be a sloth. They lie about in trees all the time and don't move much. You know if they had laptops and opposable thumbs they'd be on boards all night too.
