My local Aldi are selling off Traveler 5MP digital cameras for €29.95.

Comes with 1 Gb SD card, rechargeable batteries and charger, case and 3 year warranty.

Can't go wrong for €30 IMHO.

picked up one today in castlebar at lunch time. The 1GB card, rechargable batteries (2+charger) and case are almost worth E30 .
The 7MP one was also reduced from 80 to 60, I think.

I got a 7MP model two weeks ago for a friend,was reduced from 79.99-59.99 in Aldi,the 8MP model was 139.99,5MP was 39.99 from 59.99 at the time.

Come in handy for the hols!

On the box it says that this model (DC-7900) accepts up to 4GB SD card - however the only 4GB SD cards I've come across (looking to buy one) are SDHC.

Does anyone know if these will accept SDHC cards?

Or can you just get regular SD cards in 4GB??

Still plenty of the 5MP in Thurles. There are also some of the 7Mp, but I've no idea of how many.

The 7Mp are €49.99.

As of this afternoon, they had at least one of the 7MP cameras for €49.99 in the old store in Ballincollig. They didn't seem to have any of the 5MP ones for €29.99 but they were still displaying the price tag, so maybe it'd be worth checking with them.

No matter how many MP's the camera has, it's the lens that counts just as much, the lens doesn't seem brilliant.

Lads, its €30. It comes with a 3 year warranty, SD card, batteries and charger. It takes OK quality photos, perhaps not as good as a €200 camera, but good enough for a €30 unit.

Got the 7MP one for 49.99 in Aldi for herself indoors yesterday. Nice and compact little camera for her bag, (so she can take pictures of her mutant friends when she's on the razz )

Seriously though, took a few pics with it yesterday evening and I reckons its perfect for casual use. The focus works fine, flash has all the usual settings.

Popped a few on to the PC at home and they seemed fine. No distingushable noise from the default settings. Didn't print any out on me photo printer so I don't know how they'd transfer to there.

For 50 squids you can't go wrong. As long as you don't expect SLR quality and you'll be happy with this purchase.
And thats the bottom line, cos chavezychavez says so

Thanks for posting Eddie73 I'd agree, what makes this a killer deal is the accessories are included, like the 4 batteries, charger, case and SD card. I've never seen these included with any other digital camera, even at the full price. It's great value because you don't have to fork out for extras that are essential. I hope they reduce them in my Aldi soon.

From googling for the spec the lens seems to go down to 28mm can anyone confirm this as a mate is looking for a cheap wide angle camera and this looks like it fits the bill.

Available in Parnell St, Dublin. There is one in a display case with no price tag (actually has the price tag for something else). It's underneath an 8MP camera from the same manufacturer priced at €120 or €130. Anyway you'll need to ask a member of staff to get one from the back of the store.

I don't know how many are left apart from the one in the display case (in box, shrinked wrapped).
