(Cork) Looking to start alt-rock/goth/post punk band

My list of influences would be, at the moment, Bauhaus, Joy Divison, the Cure, the Smashing Pumpkins, Queens of the Stone Age, Alien Sex Fiend, Dead Can Dance, Faith and the Muse, the Chameleons, Muse, Radiohead, Cinema Strange, Switchblade Symphony, the Birthday Massacre, Rage Against the Machine, Gorillaz, Sneaker Pimps, Massive Attack, also some electro(e.g. Depeche Mode, Neuroticfish), classic rock(e.g. Eric Clapton/Cream, Jimi Hendrix) and metal(e.g. Pantera., Opeth).

I play guitar, and would like to find another guitarist to jam with first(also having keyboard/synth skills would come in handy) and foremost, as well as a bassist and perhaps a drummer(or might go with a Drum Machine, Sisters of Mercy style).

I want to create something edgier and a little daring, with a more true "Rock" spirit, kind of the opposite of most over-processed rock and faux-indie music today.

I tend to be the kind of guitarist that messes with sounds and effects. I have a decent amont of pedals I can share with a guitarist or bassist.

Alrite bud.thanks for posting in my thread.im into alot of different types of music.im an old classic rocker at heart and am into some of the bands you mentioned in your thread like clapton,q.o.t.s.a etc.
Im big fan of metallica(goin to see them next week in dublin)and like alot of the solo guitar players like joe satriani,paul gilbert and john petrucci of Dream theater.
I think though to be honest that your probably looking for something more rock/metal orientated and to write your own stuff where as im half thinking of an acoustic type act at the moment just to get out there and jam and try get afew gigs.

how old are you&where are ya from?

Hmm I wouldn't be so much into doing metal but I would be going after a bit of a spooky sound that might be a bit harsh.
