I posted this on the Farmers section but got no replies, Is this beetle still a threat ito the potato crop in this country or is there enough pesticides pumped into the Irish crop to eradicate them for good?

I can remember back in the 70ies seeing "wanted" posters for the Colorado Beetle in every Garda barracks in the country. I believe at one time the threat was so serious that if you found one of on your land you had to capture immediately and report it to the dept of agriculture. I don't hear much about them any more and the posters are a now rare sight. Has modern pesticides ruled out the treat of them? surely with global travel the treat of an invasion of these is greater than ever

Yes the Colorado Beetle is still a threat, and nothing has changed, place the little bugger in a jam jar and call the Dept.
