Barry George freed

Its been all over the news and tabloids this weekend and it looks like Sky News arent going to let up anytime soon.

What I found a bit strange about the whole thing was the fact that he was (presumably) paid some (lots of?) money for his joint interview with the News Of The World and Sky. Now, this is a guy that abused a Japanese wife and had been found attempting to break into Kensington Palace and discovered on one occasion hiding in the grounds wearing a balaclava and carrying a knife. And yet Sky seem to be forgetting about these incidents regardless of the Dando case.

Whether he did it or not the fact that he's been whored by the media as some sort of everyman hero is a bit strange.

So have you been following the events and do you remember them from 8 years ago? Has a guilty man been freed or has he finally found some justice?

    Or do you like cake?

Hmmm.... you start a thread on Barry George and you "want to be stalked"... seems to me to be a bit more here than meets the eye....

The tabloids will tell you that they are covering a story not an individual and need to get interviews with the people involved and that, for better or wrose, is Barry George.

Also, regardles of what crimes he has been CONVICTED OF in the past, I don't think any of rthem would warrant eight years in jail.

As regards the 'he did it/he didn't do it" he's been found innocent in a court of law and if we respect the legal system we have to resepect the verdict. We happily accpeted the first one eight years ago so we have to happily accept this one unless we know something the judge and jurors don't.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I agree about the media but as they have no standards only time to fill and EXCLUSIVES to trumpet I would expect no better.

He didn't do it I reckon as he was busy stalking someone else.

    Mike.

Seen a documentary about 5 years ago on this and the case was an absolute farce. He was seen on cctv camera about 6 miles away from the murder 15mins before she was murdered and he didnt drive. The police also stated after they arrested him that they found numerous pictures and articles about Dando in his house when they searched it. What they didnt say was that they found something like 300 copies of the sun in his house and in some of these papers were pictures and articles about Dando.

Who was the Irish politician who lobbied hard for his release? I half heard something about this over the weekend.

Willy O'Dea I believe. Again, I think politicians should keep their big noses out of the specific cases unless it has a political impact that affects 'the bigger picture'.
The man is innocent because the courts say he is. Opinion is fair enough, but asserting (or even seeming to) that he is guilty is not fair, legal or ethical. Poll edited.

I remember thinking the exact same, the entire case was pretty much circumstantial evidence and the guy was pretty much the villiage idiot how couldn't plot a circle never mind a high-profile killing

Yeh I read that she might have been killed in retaliation for some program she made about Yugoslavia or something, not sure though. Maybe she was just dicking around with another bloke and her hubby found out.........?

Whether he was a prolific bank robber or Jack the Ripper, he did not do this. So, the only correct verdict is Not Guilty.

There's no evidence he did it, but that's not to say he didn't do it.

He went very fat in jail, so he must have been well fed.

He's getting a huge settlement out of it isn't he? Rightfully so.

He'll get thousands rather than millions, a jury found him guilty and there was no dodgy planting of evidence that they can prove (so far).

I was on my way home from work on that evening and for some reason decided to buy the radio times ,somthing i never did before as it was usualy tv times i bought .On the front cover was Jill dando all in leather biker outfit and i read the article on the tube home .Then at home i switched on the main evening news to hear of her murder .I still dont know why i bought the radio times instead of the tv times that day .

George has being whored by the media and he does have a track record of stalking women .He may ,may not be innocent of Dandos murder (i'm still undecided ) but if i had to pick between the McCanns being nvolved in the abduction of their child and barry george being guilty , i would pick the latter

There is also no evidence to say you did it............get my drift

I would hazard a guess that you bought it because Jill Dando was on the front cover all in leather.

I dont think he did kill her the police grabbed the first idiot they thought they could plant the murder on.Saying that it makes you think what they would do to get somebody anybody for that crime including you if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. The police involved have to be held accountable for their mistake because of them the real murderer is out there.

Some people might pay a therapist good money to tell them that :) but i picked up copy of radio times before i saw her on front cover

I thought georges quote about not being the killer of Dando was classic

'' i couldent have killed her cuz i was stalking somebody else at the time '' :D
