To be quite honest, i didnt try at all for the JC.
im not expecting very good results, but thats what you get for going to the beach in between tests rather than studying.
hopefully i will get all b's and above as i did all honours subjects except for irish (which i dispise with a passion)

and is it just me or did anybody else find higher level maths paper 2 harder than the past papers?

    Make up your Bastard mind!!!
Still thinking low enough in maths however... :P

    Art - B
    Business - B/C

The English Essay was ridiculous. You had to write about being the assistant of the guy from the comprehension. My whole class just copied the comprehension! Geography was easy and I found Science easy but everyone else thought it was hard. Also, I need a better History teacher. The one i have now isn't gonna do me any good if I have him for leaving cert!

The Junior Cert. exam is designed for candidates to do well - almost everyone does much better than they expected.
You'll all be fine, just don't take it as an indicator of how the Leaving will go.

I think I got through that one, I got Q 1 2 and 6 in paper 1, after that it was a guessing game :S
Some questions just angered me, I disliked the lottory one intently
Sure it isnt long til the results now and I'll be on here anyways comparing results :P

Cant get better than an A XD

Exactly, but there is a world of difference between a candidate who gets 85% and one who gets 99% at JC, but they both get A.
When I used to correct, it used to amaze me how some candidates got an A, since their papers showed they really hadn't a clue in some areas, but they managed it, thanks to the JC marking scheme favouring the candidate.

That however is not the case when it comes to Leaving Cert as the A's are split up into a1 and a2 and there is a 10 point difference between the two, the JC is more of a guidelines, the candidate cant get past on luck forever ecspecially not in the LC!

Lads/lassies, as you spend more time on the internet you'll swiftly learn that there are saddos out there who randomly slag people off for no apparent reason, or post intentionally provocative things to try and get a rise out of normal posters. They're trolls, they are for the most part a pathetic waste of space, and it's best not to let them bother you.

i kinda figured that out in my first week using the internet, its 90%porn 9%trolls and 1% genuine content

well i did barely any study, i got 4 or 5 a's for the mocks and i feel i did better for the junior cert so hopefully but really i dont care that much as long as the results arent terrible
    i'd hope to get

    English B(if im lucky)
    Irish B
    Maths A
    Geography A
Science B (again if im lucky but the jc was much easier than mocks)
French B (if im very lucky)
    History A
    CSPE A
    Business B
    Woodwork A
Tech Graph might scrape the A

Very optimistic and almost certinally wont get them but i still might

oh and paper one of maths was easier than usual but paper two was harder than usual so

    God the Junior Cert Results...
I really do not want to find out what I got..
It's not as though I think I've done bad, because I know I haven't..I was able to answer the majority of the questions. Plus I got five a'ss in the mocks and five b's and I hadn't studied for them so there must be some improvement. However it's the uncertainty that's the real killer with the Junior Cert...How am I to know whether the examiner liked my essays etc.? What if I got a really cranky of particular marker? In some ways i think that a lot of the Junior Cert results are down to luck...you get a nice marker or not.But in other ways it's not really cos if I had put in the work hopefully it'll pay off..hopefully I got a generous marker though..:)

Well, i did sweet FA for the Mocks, and averaged a B... 2 As and 2 Cs, but one C was ridiculously marked... but i won't get into that. Grr.

tbqh, i know that i'll be disappointed in anything i get less than an A in... i don't half have high expectations! i know that i ahve the ability to get the As, i just don't think i did enough work at all... (for "not enough" read "any")

i guess i'll know in... less than 3 weeks time!

I really think i am in the same boat as you, i didn't do any work at all. and my teachers keep telling me that if i applied myself i could get straight As.
Tbh i dont really care that much about it because its only the JC but i will be working hard for the leaving (at least i hope i will)

i totally agree there... i didn't really bother too much because i know that i more than likely won't remember what i got in the JC in the future, but i'm so determined to do well in the leaving. the course i want was 535 this year (as far as i know) and apparently set to go up if anything... so i'm gonna work!
