So im going to the US in the next few days and ive decided to take the step and purchase my first macbook.
My questiion is that, has anybody bought a macbook with the student discount. I know that proof is needed of acceptance to a college. Can i use a letter of my acceptance into dcu and gain the benefit of 100dollars off my macbook. I know im pushing my luck as im already getting a good deal on the price! But it never hurts to chance your arm. Or do i need an American collge acceptance letter?
So has anybody tried this tactic(of sorts), all responses will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks:rolleyes:

AFAIK you'd need to be attending an American college. You could always try it, the worst they can say is no.

I bought dot mac from an apple store in the US and I showed them an Irish student card.

It saved me $30 so OP it's worth a try.

    Good luck

Thanks for the replies lads/lassies, $30 is better than nothing i suppose, il give her a shot and try work my auld magic on the person at the sales desk and bring the price down a few dollars. It shouldn't really bother the person at the cash desk if they give student discount, honestly the machines are somewhat overpriced imo. But there ya go, il report back to ya guys on how my persuasive toungue got on!

Used my Irish student card in the UK no bother. Was just asked where the uni was. Apple accepts international student IDs though pretty much worldwide from what I've read online.
