no solution to this that i'm aware of, but is the qwerty really that difficult?

isnt predictive text just a substitute to not having a full qwerty in the first place?

...your problem really doesnt make sense....!

    cheers for the reply

the problem is the buttons are too small on the iphone for me to text easily on... if you only have the 12 buttons (ie 0-9 * and #) on screen its much easier to text on than a full qwerty keyboard on a small screen

its a piece of software commonly available on windows mobile phones which make it much easier to text on in my opinion

if you press the letters on the iphone they actually get bigger allowing you to make sure you're chosing the correct letter. also the iphone will attempt to predict what you're typing and does learn your habits. it can be a little annoying though. i own an ipod touch so i speak from experience.

i personally think its very easy to get used to it. in a weeks time you'll forget about t9.

Have really come around to the iPhone text system.

I now prefer the corrective text, to the predictive type, where you just type away making typos and the iPhone usually corrects it as you go.

You'll find your texts are perfectly formatted with capitals and apostrophes and everything!

agreed, if it catches on we could be looking at the death of txt spk! and i'll dance on its grave...

I really struggle with it too. The Corrective text feature is very good, but falls down when you're typing an unusual word. I find it infuriating to use personally, easily the worst aspect of the iPhone, and the reason why I still prefer my N95 to the iPhone.

i have tried to get used to it... i owned a HTC TYTN II and couldn't stand the on-screen keyboard... thankfully it had a hardware keyboard and there is plenty of good software keyboards available for windows based phones.

I just don't think the tytn II is as cool as the iphone though

Personally txt language doesn't bother me at all... I notice people really pull you up on it on this site but on other forums I've never seen anyone complain about it... Guess it's just what people get used to

i tolerate txt speak on mobiles as its easy for some people, but to bring that across to your pc is just laziness tbh.
