Did a bit of searching on this with limited success. It seems you can download the enitre wiki database and then import it into a reader for offline reading.

The program I got is WikiTaxi, but does not seem to import for me.

Anyone got wiki working offline before?

I don't know about having an offline version maintained/updated regularly but there was a release of a lot of articles on DVD a few months back. Can't remember what this project was called ... quick search later and here's a link: linky.

Must be massive with so much multimedia between all the articles. Notice how the DVD 'only' has a few thousand articles? :D

4gbs with only latest text only articles.

Anyway I did a bit more research on it and there's very little out there to get it working.

The best I managed was this:

    http://www.k840.com/install-wikipedia-locally/

which i've got partially working, with a subset of wikipedia downloaded. I'll update more when I have the full thing complete. It takes an hour to unpack.

I suppose a wget would do it but you would probably be blacklisted for using a lot of bandwidth.
