I'd like to have some Economics forum sigs to help promote the forum if it is moved.

However, I suck at photoshop. Therefore, would someone mind creating some kind of sig for the forum?

I also suck at photoshop. I reckon it should be something humourous in an economics way, if ya get me. Maybe something involving a graph.

    I too suck at photoshop.

I also suck at photoshop, however, Ruu doesn't and he has made sigs for forums before if someone asks nicely.

Maybe a graph with a recessionary gap then a big 'equals to sign' and beside it a picture of someone pulling their pockets out of their pants with nothing in them. Maybe that's just my nerdy humour...

Lets take a game theoretical approach to this and jump straight to not doing it.

I am a bit of an econoshop nerd.

Nice job. I found these catchy slogans:

Economists are armed and dangerous: "Watch out for our invisible hands."

    ECONOMISTS do it on demand

    "Economists do it with models"

Economists do it discretely AND continuously.

    So maybe something like:
Economists do it discretely AND continuously
Find out why, at the new economics forum...

    Keep 'em coming :)

How do I put a link into a sig, i.e: you can click on the image to take you to the forum?

Someone make a sig out of those!

We should all meet up for a pint sometime. The Cournot might be low, but I guess the Bertrand would be pretty high.

Testing to see if the sig works...

    Edit: Cheers.

Flamed Diving / nsef - are you around Dublin at all?

I second this meeting of economists.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,609 ✭✭✭Flamed Diving

I will be in Dublin from Sept onwards. Nesf is tied to Cork by a very large chain.

    :P

I'm shackled to Cork. I do occasionally travel up though and I may travel to a conference or two next year depending on how things work out.

Rarrrr, I'm drunk, so this I'm not wearing my mod hat at all at all.

The pints thing was an economics joke. I don't think any of you are quite nerdy enough to get it. Boo hiss. But anyways I'd be only delirah to have a pint with ye. I accepted a place in UCD yesterday so I'll be in Dublin for the next year anyway.

Oh but which pub to meet? The Mercantile? Haha!

Forum moved to Soc. Rejoice, and be merry! Oh yeah, and bow down before your new Cmod overlord, ahem.

The DHTML menu will probably update tonight.

I'm guessing it's the MA in Economics you accepted. Mind me asking why you chose UCD MA over Trinity MSc? Just curious...

I did this on MS Paint, whatcha think?

    I like it.
    Made me laugh.

    In the sig it goes.

Does it conform to sig rules re: size, etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,255 ✭✭✭✭The_Minister

Actually, I think that it might be a mite big.

Maybe cut out some of the edge or something?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,609 ✭✭✭Flamed Diving

I have two alt sizes here. One is smaller, the other is smaller and longer.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,208 ✭✭✭Économiste Monétaire

It's a bit big, I like it though. I put it beside the other sig and it dwarfs it. Maybe, crop it down about to about 2/3 of its size.

    Edit: sig1 is good.

    Change of scenery; more choice.

Edit: I think sigs can only be 20kb.

I also didn't take the TCD Masters. For pretty much the same reasons and the fact that there are no electives.

Well congradulations anyways. At least the first years coming in will have a tutor that understands calculus ;). There are some real horror stories about tutors for Quantitative economics.

You don't have to pick those electives in the second semester (energy economics, etc). There's also PhD Micro, Macro, and Econometrics that you can take after the regular masters level ones from semester 1.

Aye, I saw the list from Warwick, quite a large selection.
