Okay, I'm supposed to be working tomorrow between the unGodly hours of 6pm and 2am, that's bar work for you! Unfortunately, this shift coincides with the culmination of the Spraoi festival here in Waterford which is a big deal in terms of going out! I've so far managed to dodge the night shifts during the festival, but really really don't want to work tomorrow because everyone and their dog is going out!

Anyone know of anything I can do tomorrow to get me off the shift yet still be in some way believable?

    Alcohol poisoning.

I actually put that on a sickness self certification form for work recently... After the way I called in sick there wasn't much of a choice in the matter!:P

Claim that you're from Niger and cannot work because you must celebrate Independence Day.

Or that you have to celebrate the birthday of Terry Wogan

If your man about it youll slap your hand on the hob and tell them you burned it and wont be able to pull tap tonight. That always worked for me - but I never did it intentionally.

Quit your job so someone who might appreciate it can have it.

Oh noes every man and his dog will be out. That would be a good time not to go out imo.

I've appreciated it for three years, and will continue to do so, just not tonight! I don't think any barman would appreciate working on the busiest night of the year at a time when the whole weekend is being billed as "fun fun fun" being forced to watch everything!
