System locks up on a Google search.

As soon as I google something the system locks up completly. I need to "Con alt de" to get into the task manager to get out of it. The usual Windows error message appears. I am using the EEEPC with XP with basic AVG Any suggestions?

It looks like an adware or malware. It happened to me as well one time. Reformatted my laptop harddisk and it took care of everything
