Juding on the comments on the nokia forum i believe that 2Gb is the largest capacity card to work in it. Using a larger card will just slow the phone down no end.

also now that i think of it, the music player on the nokia 6300 was only able to recognise 400 tracks at any one time so a bigger card might not have been a great idea anyway if it was music you were going to be using it for.

Your right teh battery is fairly c*ap, i'd say that is about right for the battery life, i had to charge mine almost every night. As for the headphone jack, don't even get me started, its a problem with all nokia 6300, the connection is s**te. I brought mine back twice to get fixed and still ended up the same a couple of weeks later.

Its worth a try, they'll probably just give you a new 6300, might a bit more difficult to try and get a different phone.

the battery issue isnt a fault, nokia in their divine wisdom decided to upgrade the screen quality when designing that handset but to keep the unit from being an unattractive size they decided to lump the old battery in it from the previous range. everytime that screen lights up it's haemorrhaging power. you should probably set brightness level etc to lowest possible. arent you glad you didnt buy it a 1.5 years ago when it would have set you back €200+ and had the exact same issues?

the headphone connection on the other hand is a fault. show it happening to the lads in CPW and there should be no issue in changing it. for the same price range you could probably get a w610i (if they still sell them), very similar phone except the important issue that it actually really good.

Did you buy it on o2?

If your phone becomes faulty within the first 30 days of purchase, then you are entitled to a fully boxed replacement phone or a refund - whichever you prefer.

I don't think it will be a problem, it doesn't matter if its intermittent its still a fault. Last time I used carphone warehouse for a fault they were great. And oddly enough was a headset problem that was intermittent to. Of course like everything it depends who you are dealing with, but I don't think you should have problems, especially since you have only had it such a sort time.

I've been far from impressed with my last few nokias and I changed for a sony ericcson but was offered a 6500 slider on friday from work so I said id give it a shot, not holding my breath, my 6300 was sh1t and I often have to send them back to mprc, about 10 a week-disgrace but have only had to send one 5310 back to I think that speaks for itself!
