The qualifiers today are available on the media player, but it's marked (ireland only)

I consider Northern Ireland to be in Ireland, but internet licensing might beg to differ.

Does anyone know if I will i be able to watch these games in the north?

If it's marked Ireland only, you should be able to get it and there might be a problem with your ISP not being recognised. If it's RoI only you won't.

You won't be able to see much if the TM cup is anything to go by. All I have is a green scren, bar the odd still picture I have!

Do you not have access to a tv? Be so much handier.

No tv yet, but there's a pub about 20 minutes away, so i'll try the media player from 1.40pm and then drive like the blazes if it doesn't work!

All live GAA webcasts should be available on the whole island.

For the Wexford v Down game the quality is fine.

Assuming the whole "Island or Ireland" restriction isn't some sort of political statement by RTE and is only applied so viewers in the North can watch their teams play in the championship, surely by that logic coverage should also be available in the rest of the UK (London) and the US (New York)

It is not a political statement by anyone. The logic is RTÉ can only show live streaming within the 32 counties. Setanta own the rights elsewhere. It has nothing to do with who plays in the Championship.
