    I have a 1982 fender precision bass japanese vintage in relitively good nick, came out of a house i was working on, guy said it was used by a member of Def Leppard.Lots of history to it, its got cigarette marks on top of neck as if played by a rock and roll smoker, also might have been used a left hand as the clips for straps look as if swapped. Elephant ear machine heads.JV series.Very rare so i am told. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

    They're not rare, pretty easy to find. A quick google will find out how much they normally go for. The fact that it has cigarette burns (very common) and moved/extra strap buttons would reduce the value.

    Unless you've pictures and signatures, it ain't worth anything extra regardless of who played it.

    Given its condition I'd say ~400 euro
