I'm so sorry to hear of your news OP. My heart goes out to you.

Have you tried the Allen Carr seminar? Its approx 300 euro and you get your money back if you don't succeed.

You cannot afford to not find a solution to your addiction. Let me know what you've tried.

Also, sorry to say but text speak is not permitted on Personal Issues. Just in case a mod pulls you up on it.
    ;)

No offence but that hurt to read and I'm not talking about the subject matter.

My mother has MS and coughs for about 10 minutes if you get her laughing. I have a sneaky suspicion that the smokes will get her before the MS. It's really really not something I want to see but she's smoked for many years so it may be unavoidable.

There's still hope for you, you're still young and whatever you do you have to stop. There's a Stop smoking forum on boards and I have no doubt they will direct you to all the support available. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=871

    Good luck.

You're fine op, jesus. We understand.

So listen, have you tried to stop smoking at all? And if so, what have you tried already?

Well then in that case, really try the Allen Carr seminar. What have you got to lose?? If you fail, you get your money back as i've said, so......

Here is the website - www.allencarr.ie

You need to find somthing else to give you that time out and to calm your nervers.
A cop of tea with out the ciggie, deep breathing and counting to 20 or having a lolipop.

I am sorry also to hear of this, my mother is 52 years old, best person in the world, smoked since she was 13 and only gave up in November due to health issues. Now if my mother can give up smoking after 39 years (20-40 cigarettes a day) then so can you.

She gave up for her family, I'm 22 my brother is 27 and I've sisters 20 and 15.. Now seeing us grow into decent adults and start a family is more important to her than cigarettes, so if you have your priorities right you can do the same.
She did it with no professional help, we rallied around her and just told her how much we appreciated what she was doing and how hard it was, and how proud we are of her.

Your children will be just as proud of you, and I wish you the best of luck!

I used patches to get off the cigs i only needed them for 2 weeks,i cut down the cigs to about 10 to 12 a day and got the lightest strength.the first week was the worst,i didnt know what to do with my hands, week 2 was far easier. Im now a non smoker 3 years. The father in law bought an electronic cigarette from deal extreme, they have nicotine in them you suck on them,he hasnt had a cig in months now.Worth a google me thinks OP.

sorry to hear your bad news, but hopefully i was some help.
