    Thursday August 7 at Wax

    Jay Grogan [Slick DJ]
    Dan Ring [www.electricity-dublin.com]

    Admission - e6 / Free with flyer before 12

Two local guests playing this week who will bring us all the way from italo to Chicago to electro to harder edged techno by throwing-out time. First up is Dan 'EC Online' Ring - he fast tracked us on to the internet a mere 4 years after we began the club and for that we're eternally grateful. Dan has been a regular visitor to Electric City going back to the Metropolitan days and it's only of late that we've managed to coax him out to the other side of the decks.

Next up is an EC debutant but no stranger to playing out and about in Dublin, Jay Grogan.

Jay has been a regular fixture on the Dublin club scene for the past 6 years or so. Starting out at spots such as Club Mono & Ten, Jay moved on to earn his first residency in 2005 in Ireland's most renowned club, the POD. Today, his musical interests are widespread, with the many sub genres of techno (and sometimes house) being the key players in his sets. He can be spotted regularly performing at Ireland's home of the underground - Acii Disco @ Traffic & until recently, the legendary Mixed Salad, known as the DC10 of the Emerald Isle. Currently, Jay is the editor of Irish clubbing magazine Slick DJ, who earlier this year hosted the Irish Dance Music Awards, catering for all dance music enthusiasts nationwide. His set at this years Life Festival took a trip back to the late 80's and early 90's acid house era, a set aptly entitled 'Jesus Loves the Acid', which was a great end to an already excellent weekend. Expect something different from Jay's usual club performances this week though as he'll be veering more down the techno route. Think Sims, Paul Mac, Clarke, Mark Broom....
