    This might be a really dumb question, if a copy of office is registered to one name, say John O'Brien, can the registered name be changed? I don't know if i am explaining this properly or if this is the right forum, but basically I am using a computer that someone else had been set up for in work, and I want to add a comment to an excel cell, and have the author name be mine and not the previous user??:confused::confused:

    You can just edit the comment. Delete their name and put your own name in. You can also change the name under
    Tools->Options->General Tab
