Denying creeps

Is there any point denying creeps if there is no enemy hero nearby? It won't give them experience but does it give their team gold if their creep kills our creep?

I believe they get reduced XP from the deny but I don't know any numbers on it

Denys ur opponet xp, thus letting you gain lvl's on him faster and such.

plus its really annoying when people do it :P

I mean when the hero is not nearby, he won't be getting experience anyway. Does a team get gold for their creeps killing a creep?

One advantage I think of denying is you stay away fromt their tower from longer.

Oh yea it slows your push to their tower but it doesn't cost them anything really as far as I know.
