I'd recommend getting the best footjoys that you can afford.

Look around for a sale - sometimes they will clear out last year's model.

Check out Heatons. They usually have a good selection for under E50

Heatons are selling a pair of Addidas Nitro Dry's for under €50, I find them comfy and fairly waterproof.

    I would second that.

I meant to start a thread on this recently but forgot. I have terrible feet (old football injuries etc.) and in particular the big toe on my right foot (stop laughing :D ) gives me terrible trouble about 2 hours into a round. This is the main reason why I don't play many 36 hole events.

My current shoes, while suitable for 99.99% of the market, just aren't comfortable or don't offer the right support for me.

Can anyone recommend a very comfortable pair of shoes? My budget is ~€150 as these will get a lot of use.

Adidas shoes are comfy, but i find they make your feet sweat like mad. No doubt due to the fact they're very trainer-like. Don't think i'll get another pair of them again. Going to stick with the footjoys.

I have used Footjoy, Etonic, Hi-Tec, and Adidas and I have to say for comfort its a toss up between Etonic and Adidas but I think I would chose the Etonic. Currently have a pair of Adidas 360 tour and agree they make your feet sweat a little but they are so comfortable I will live with it.

    Cant go wrong with either

I have found Footjoy are the best.
Dont like Adidas shoes, they feel plasticky and their sizing system is wrong.
You need a size larger than a normal shoe.
Why they changed their sizing system is beyond me,its illogical.

    FJ (Dryjoys) for me

I have to agree about the Adidas shoes lads. Very comfortable but very sweaty. My present pair are Footjoy and they are every bit as comfortable (more maybe) and definately more breathable. Less sweat:D.

I thought maybe it was because i was wearing the wrong socks or that i had a foot problem so glad to hear i'm not alone with the adidas shoes.

JJB used to do reasonably priced shoes, but anyone i've been in lately has been closing down.

Are the nike shoes any good, I have a friend going to the states soon and was going to ask them to get me a pair of the SP saddle 3 shoes

    http://www.discountgolfworld.com/products/nike/sp-3sdlii.html

    Are these any use

I'm sure they are grand. From my experience though the Footjoy Dryjoy is the best shoe out there. How about these instead

For Cyrus' €50 budget I think Stylo are hard to beat. I bought a pair in Killerig four or five years ago for about €45 and they only began letting in enough water this year to make me replace them. I got a cheap pair of Footjoys but tbh they're not a patch on the Stylos. In Killerig a while back and they're still only around the €50 mark. I don't doubt that FJ sell a fine shoe at the upper end but for less than €80 you're only paying for the name.

@Adrian - Be careful of buying golf shoes in the factory outlets. I got a pair of Nike SP6s in Orlando last year, worked out at about €50. I got two rounds of golf played in them before the soles started to come apart. I tried Nike reps here and in the UK and they didn't want to know.

thirded, can't go wrong with footjoy. America has some brilliant bargains with them, I got a pair for $49 when there last summer, cost €120 here.
defintely the best, I've had etonic and adidas. Adidas is close though.

there is no such thing as a very bad beguinner give yourself at least two years, the shoes in heatons are ok,but shop around you could get a better make for not too much more , but never put your shoes in the hotpress to dry ,ruins them

I had a pair of FJs bought last year in the us for under $50 in an outlet store. They werent too waterproof and this year the soles of my feet were aching after a round. I got a pair of Hi-Tec CDTs a few weeks ago, great support and very waterproof. Played the last 3 rounds with them and they have worked out great..

I've had Footjoys for years and never had a problem with them leaking. They last for ages too.

I've been on the look out for a pair of ecco golf shoes. The prices branded about seem ridiculous, until I stumbled upon the following website with them.

    http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/ecco-crossfire-golf-shoes.html

Has anyone bought from here before. Judging by previous posts I could get hit by customs so i'm not sure on this. Advice appreciated

footjoys do exactly as it says on the shoe
The adidas 360s look the buisness
And I always say if you can't play look well

I bought a pair of these nike sp1's:

    http://www.buy4now.ie/elverys/aspx/productdetail.aspx?pid=2069&loc=P&catid=33.3

a few months ago and say Ive played on average once a week, I have only worn them roughly 10/15 times. Played on the wkend and the sole came half off...effectively talkin to me. I know they were only €60 but surely that shouldnt happen?? Can i send them back to nike since i havent got a receipt??
