A little birdie (!) told me this is a pretty bloody tough course. With my father in town (plays off 2) I want to give him a challenge and a good Irish golfing Experience..

    Montgomorie worth a visit?

Well worth a visit, one of the best inland courses in the country in my opinion.

Long off the back sticks and well open to the elements, with plenty of bunkers to add to the mix. Greens are normally class.

Agree with f22. Your father will enjoy Monty and the whole Carton experience. Bring him to the GUI Academy (which is also in the grounds of Carton) before your round to hit some balls to get into the groove. I'm backing your Dad to win the money!! ;)

Great course, tough but manageable. Very enjoyable, well placed fairway bunkers, good greens, always in great condition. Tough when windy and wet and played off back tees

    Cheers for the Confirmation Lads...

He has said he will give me 20 shots, him off blue, me off white...

    The wager?

Cost of flights, hotels, car rentals for their (Ma & Pa) week in Scotland!

For anyone off 18+ the course is a beast! Hellish bunkers and the longest course i ever played! Glad to see the 19th hole when i played it....well worth it though

Just thought I wld update this for some weird reason, maybe Im bored...

anyway...managed to play the course and the old man loved it..thought it was a cracking challenge and had a huge smile on his face as he holed out on the 18th for a gross 73 from the long tees (bloody smart ass)...

    Next request

Courses just north of galway in the clifden area...
