Sony Bravia W4000 series has one. I have the 32" model myself.

However buyer warning here: the tuner in them is DVB-T/MPEG4. Depending on when DTT is launched here the possibility exists of a standard called DVB-T2/MPEG4 also being used as well. The UK are going with this standard for HD very late next year. DVB-T/MPEG4 tuners will NOT pick up DVB-T2/MPEG4!

However DVB-T2 equipment is unlikely to be commercially available until 2010. However if RTE and commercial DTT is launched here as scheduled next Autumn, they will go with DVB-T/MPEG4 as exists at the moment so you will be safe enough should you want to buy now. RTENL start MPEG4 standard engineering tests next week.

I am buying a HD TV soon, but want to be able to avail of all of the new Irish Digital Terrestrial broadcasts using the built in tuner. I don't want to get a seperate box. Will it be possible to receive all possible digital broadcasts on all muxes using the MPEG4 decoder built into the television? What about the PAY channels run by Boxer? There is no smart card slot on the tv i am looking at.

A PVR (Personal Video Recorder) is the future, with Video On Demand, automatic recording of programs that you would miss (without you having to program it!).

Also playback of video camera and digital camera.

A separate box is better. Good HD TVs are actually just video monitors now, the visual equivalent of good loudspeakers on a HiFi.

Don't you want DVD, BluRay (HD videos)?

Are there any dual DVB-T/MPEG4 DVD Recorders with HDD on the market. Wouldnt this be a good option instead of a vanilla STB for receiving the FTA channels?

The Sony website says the Gravia 4000series is DVB-t/MPEG2 and not DVB-t/MPEG4 as stated here. The url is shown here.

Can you recommend a PVR that will work with FreeSat and terrestrial (RTE etc)?
