I have to agree that number 4 was the worst of the sequels. But if anything gets made first, it better be Grim Fandango 2!

Lucas Arts are cutting lots of jobs, the game development team they will have left won't be big enough to work on any major new games.

If they do make it, it had better be back to the style of 3.

4 was..... well.... let's just pretend 4 didn't happen.

Would love to see it done with today's visual quality, at 1920x1200 with hand drawn backgrounds.

I only really liked the Ron Gilbert ones. I'd rather see his Monkey Island 3 made... not that it will ever happen.

My biggest hope for this is that with lucas arts shedding jobs like a Christmas tree in February, Telltale or maybe Double Fine will pick up the license on the cheap, a la Sam and Max.

So, I know I'm bumping a fourteen year old thread here – but I can't see anything newer (edit: apparently I can't use the search function properly), so I figured what the hell.

I've been playing Return to Monkey Island for a few weeks, and I have to say that I love it. It's everything I remember from my misspent youth, and then some. Anyone else?
