Anyone else see the most excellent trailer for what could well be the event movie of 2009?
The previously unfilmable Watchmen is finally coming to a movie screen near you next year courtesy of 300 director Zack Snyder, and boy it looks super sweet.
Having been a fan of the graphic novel since I first read it back in the day, this is seems to be pretty faithful to the source material.
If you have also read the book, then you'll know there is a rather graphically gory and violent "comic within a comic", about a survivor of a pirate attack on a small town, and that is also being filmed, to be released as a separate dvd before the movie itself is out together with a fictional biographical doc on the superheroes in the "Watchmen" universe.

Yep, could definitely be the film of next year but hope it's better than 300.. yeuch!

I think that the SP track was an awful choice for the trailer. I hope they don't use music like that in the movie.

I really like SP, and have all of their stuff, but I just think it's completely at odds with the subject matter and atmosphere of Watchmen.

300, while interesting in places, had some really dodgy nu-metal in it, which was really jarring, and didn't work at all. Hopefully that performance isn't going to be repeated.
