Congrats on starting the blog, it looks good.

Couple of tips to get more traffic: Firstly, start posting more regularly. Looks like you're posting once or twice a week at the moment which is a start, but if you post more often then people are more likely to start reading it to see what you have to say.

Secondly (and this is a major one) start leaving comments on other people's blogs. Not spam or anything like that but on topics that interest you. It's a good way of letting people know that your blog exists and may encourage them to leave comments on your blog.

On a similar note, start a blogroll of other blogs that you read. If you know anyone who has a blog, ask them to add you to their blogroll. Good way to build up your readership.

Put the blog address in your signature here on boards and post more often!

    Join technorati.com.

Um, that's all I can think of right now but doing any/all of those things would definitely up your readership. All your posts look v well-thought out but don't be afraid of doing brief, random posts every so often [posting up a good quote from an interesting article you read, a good YouTube vide, something like that] as well. Plus with the Olympics on right now it's probably the single best time for a blog like yours to flourish so start thinking about topics you could write about and get writing!

Would you consider a PPC campaign to kick-start things? Once you become established you can scale back on this. PPC is a good way you get your site out there. I particularly like the placements feature that is available now in Adwords - you can choose which specific sites you want your add to appear on on the content network. For the search network, I'd imagine that the sport field is very competitive, but if you have a niche, you can differentiate, particularly in Ireland.

I think the number one priority though is to comment on other bloggers posts and you will build up your readership over time.

Nice blog by the way. But I agree with Stargal - content, and fresh content, is king.
