ESP vs Jackson

I have the option of buying an ESP Ltd. Alexi 600 or a Jackson RR 24 pro. Now I've played both and weighed up the pros and cons but I still can't decide.

Originallly I wanted to buy the new ESP Alexi Pink SE, but finances are little tight. So I've resorted to a cheaper alternative. Can anyone here with some experience in the RR models shed some light on the subject?

Or even reccomend a better alternative super strat or something along those lines.

    Help!

I can tell you this, at the moment ltds are better built guitars for the cash. Jackson has been lagging behind pretty much all the major manufacturers for the last few years now in terms of build quality and spec for money. Although they have improved this marginally by putting "real" pickups into there guitars(as opposed to jackson pickups) there still playing catch up.

The only thing that i dont like about the alexi(well the old ones anyway) is that they have the emg hz in it. I really dont care for this pickup at all, or any of the emg passives for that matter!!! Alexi himself is using seymore duncan blackouts. Dunno if they started putting em into his sig models yet though!!

    ^+1
I think in the last few years jackson have really slipped out of the market. Still great guitars but your not getting your full bang for your money.

Saying that, the RR24 is meant to be a great guitar and imo compared to the A600, the RR24 has much better specs. I would personally go for that.

Its Japan (jackson) vs. Korea (Ltd) :p

    Still fairly undecided!

I wouldnt go as far as to say its Japan Vs. Korea, a lot of korean instruments are still poor and a lot of Japenese instruments are still better than there american series counterparts, cough cough...fender....cough cough.

Just gonna have to eat my words now though cause for some reason i thought we were talking about the more mid range guitars, id say go for the jackson in this case. Better spec for the money(in this case anyway) and imo looks a lot nicer. build quality should be about the same id wager.

Play both and see what feels best. Spec wise the Jackson wins. But you mightent like the feel of it etc.

Tried em both and call me materialistic, but I hate the "Ltd" emblazoned on the head stock! But that said I prefer the sound of the ESP model. I find that even though it has a passive humbucker, it still has more bite than the Jackson with it's EMG 81!

Or maybe I should just save my pennies and get the USA Pink Sawtooth model and have a guitar I'm 100% happy with. I guess I wouldn't mind waiting the few months.. or few years saving. :o

FYI my girlfriend hates my guitar fetish.

Well thats originally what you want, no matter what the wait is, you should go for it. Because even if you buy the jackson or Ltd you will still want the Use Pink Sawtooth and spend more money lol!

Most gf's hate the fetish so it seems haha.

Yeah, your right guys. I can see myself getting a different one and then in a few months spending ages to try and sell it in order to get the pink one!

...better get the penny jar out. :pac:
