    Hi guys,

Im looking at a Nintendo DS on Ebay. The item is located in China. Im just a bit worried here as It's a present for a friend who is living in Italy and Im not sure if it will have the interface in Italian also. I have mailed the seller querying this but haven't received a reply yet. The description says it's PAL (AU, NZ, UK standard) should I assume the language can be changed to Italian?

    Thanks a million.

hey just checked my ds which is american and in the settings it has english, german, french, spanish, italian and chinese so you can change it to all those languages and i presume the pal version is the same..

Regardless of compatability issues you should be very wary of buying electronics direct from china. Especially at incredibly low prices, they get your details and you recieve no goods and they are essentially impossible to trace.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies. The seller's feedback is at 97.4% and I've read feedback posted by previous buyers which looks pretty good. Am I allowed to post a link direct to the item?

    Thanks.

I bought a Ds when I was in China a year ago... Over there they are call iQue. It works fine on all games here and was no problem to set the language to English. Not sure about buying off ebay though

    Hi Dap,

    Does your DS support Italian?

    Thanks.

I would be very wary even with positive feedback. let us know how you get on if you do go ahead.

Just buy them from a legit HK/US store, with the dollar so low you'd be mad to risk losing your money!

    Hi guys,

Thanks for all the info and tips. I went through the sellers negative feedback and saw a few messages warning that the DS consoles were fake. Im so relieved I ddint take the chance. Im definately going to buy now from a reputable online store. Could anyone reccomend any US stores online?

    Thanks a million.

A few dodgy comments there relating to fake gear, and its an old model. not worth the risk at all I'd say. get yourself a DSlite from a reputable US website.

    Hi valleyoftheunos,

Could you reccomend any US sites that ship to europe? A lot of them have great deals on Nintendos but don't ship to Europe. Thanks.

I dont have any myself but a few other regular posters here do, I'd be interested to get the name of one myself.

    www.play-asia.com

I've placed 50+ orders with them without any bother.

(As with all non-EU shopping charges from Irish customs may apply)

Thanks guys for the links. Play Asia's prices for the DS are quite steep. If you guys know any other links for similar sites which ship to EU please let me know.

    Thanks again.

How likely are you to get stung by customs if you order something like a DS?
