26 euro is a bit of a steep entry price?

Aye, that's what I thought as well.

Last time I was in Donadea, I was there for an orienteering event and the organisers had arranged for us to park there for free. I would hope the same would apply here.

    Folks,
all money raised is for charity. Please read the info on the website www.donadearunningclub.com and it will explain where the money is going - a special needs school in Celbridge.

Also, this is our first time running this event and we are endeavouring to make it as professional and well run an event as possible, which for an organisation that lacks the financial backing of Adidas et al means an unfortunate passing on of some costs.

Your medal will however be an unusual one and a talking point among your collection and the t-shirt isn't too shabby either!

Oh and of course we are not gonna charge for parking..

In general we would appreciate any constructive feedback, either before or after the event so that we can make it as enjoyable an experience for all who enter. Please send any feedback directly to us at donadearunningclub@yahoo.ie

    Thanks folks,
    Dave Lynch
    Club PR Officer

Fair enough then. I have heard good things about the school you are raising money for so the best of luck

Is the 10k in forest terrain, hilly or is it on the roads? Never been in this part of the country?

    Hi stmochtas
It's a combination of road and forest floor. Both are good surfaces. The forest floor is well walked as it's a popular area with walkers and tourists and the road around it is generally camber free and tarmac - no concrete. There is a limit of 400 entries for the run too, so you will have plenty of space to run in.. this is for everyone's safety and enjoyment as we felt that any more than 400 would be pushing it on this route.

oh and no, it's not a hilly course.. you can see some pics of the forest part of the run online in the gallery at www.donadearunningclub.com
or go to flickr.com and search for "donadea" and you'll get a lot of pics from the forest too

Hi Completed the run in 82 mins which I was happy with as I got tied up at the start in the crowds and lost a bit of time. I was aiming for 80 and ended up doing the first five in 41+ and second 5 in 39+, still ha[ppy though as I have a nice target for next year.

I am taking the week off and then going to plan my next event and I think that your 10k is the one at the moment. Will the course be made available on maymyrun.com or somewhere so I could go and test it out sometime. Always like to know the route before a race.

Anyway will decide over the weekend but it looks likely.

Well unfortunately mapmyrun doesn't seem to work for the forest route.. we are working on Google maps and a plain "sli na slainte" type map so please bear with us and I'll update you as soon as it's ready. I would GUESS about another week at the most..

    Cheers
