    Hey Guys,

Anyone got experience of using Ryanair Dublin to Eindhoven ? Is the airport near a bus/train with good links to Amsterdam ?

Suppose, what I'm really asking is, if going to Amsterdam, is Eindhoven worth a shot ? (Cost of Aer-fungus into amsterdam is mad money)

    Cheers.

    FBP.

There is a direct expressbus to Amsterdam Central Station, leaving the Eindhoven airport 30 minutes after arrival of the flight, travel time 90 minutes.

    Return ticket = EUR 33.00.

Tickets at the driver or the information counter Eindhoven Airport upon arrival.

It's almost the same trip as Beauvais Paris in time and price.

There's always the train which would involve a bus from the airport to Eindhoven central station first. (probably just as long really)

EDIT: didnt read above post, bus sounds handy but it is a bit of a trek in a bus.. id say it will realistically take more than 90 minutes by bus.

Well eindhoven airport is around 15 - 20 minutes from eindhoven city centre, shouldnt cost more than 20 euro in a taxi

Trains to Amsterdam can be messy at times, at night time for example you might end up having to take a night train if youre late which can take up to 7 hours in total due to de-tours they take!!

Train takes round 1.5-2 hours to get to amsterdam, last time I took that train it was a major pain as we had to get 2 busses and one train, although it was cool cos we got to see some other cities, went through uterect etc but dutch scenery is very boring so its not that exciting.

I would never fly into eindhoven with the intention of staying in amsterdam - just fly into amsterdam with aer lingus, much less hassle and only a couple of euro from schipol to central station.... the price difference isnt too much but the hassle is way too much... espicially if youre coming home.

Eindhoven is a cool city for a chilled weekend though btw.

Yeah, Naked Lepper is right. That 90 minutes is all based on having zero traffic problems. It may be more but will never, ever be less than 90.

So basically while it's possible it's not the easiest way of getting to Amsterdam.

Easyjet fly out of Belfast if that helps ?

I would disagree slightly with the above posts. I flew into eindhoven last month. I had an option to pay 30 for a private bus ticket to Amsterdam centraal station or take the local bus to Eindhoven centraal and get the train to Amsterdam which is cheap also. It works out as around the same time spent travelling and if your a footy fan you get to see Psv Eindhoven and the Ajax stadiums while on the train!

    depends on you though.

    Hope that helps

Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of being able to choose my dates. (an event in Amsterdam to attend). Partly guessed the hassle factor would be high, but aerfungus prices at 300 yooyoos are excessive.

Dublin airport is 3 hours away from me, plus an hour onto that (at least) for Belfast and its outta reach sadly...

    thanks for replies. Appreciated.
