PS3 not playing Divx files created on Mac. Any suggestions?

    I have a few DVDs that I own that I want to copy to the HDD of my PS3.

    I'm using a program called Handbrake on my Macbook to rip the DVD to the HDD of my Mac. They work fine if I watch them on the Mac but when I transfer them to the PS3 it says file type not supported. The files are Divx which I thought was supported by the PS3.

    Is there anyone here who knows how to copy a DVD using a Mac to the PS3?

    i think there is loads of diff divx files and ps3 only supports some

    Mac? No but if you have access to a PC, I'm sure everyone could help you out...

    I've been using handbrake to rip movies and play them on my ps3. Handbrake has default settings for the ps3.

    I used the PS3 setting on Handbrake - worked great.
