Quick question - academic allowances on salary

    Had a quick peek at the sticky above on salaries.

    The academic list indicates extras for Masters, PhD etc.

    Is each added on? For instance, 4k for a Bachelors Degree, 6k for a Phd resulting in 10k if you have both? Or is it 6k total?

    For primary teachers its one or the other anyway.

    you either get 4k or 6k in both primary or secondary

    More specifically, note the footnote to the table of allowances linked from the sticky:

    "Only one of the allowances at (f) or (g) may be held together with one of the allowances (a) to (e)."

    interesting. So if you have a Primary degree, honours (which most people) then you will be claiming on that and not the H.Dip. What is the advantage of the HDip then?

    edit: ok i read it wrong, you take your HDip *with* the Degree.

    Take me for example.. I've a degree in Computers, and a HDip in Primary teaching. I don't get the H Dip allowance because Im a primary teacher anyway. I do get the honours degree allowance.

    My friend is a primary teacher with an honours degree, a H Dip in primary teaching and a H Dip in secondary teaching. She (as far as I know) does get the H Dip allowance (for the secondard one) and the honours degree allowance.
