Olympic Distance Triathlons- recovery time

I'm hoping to compete in my first Olympic Distance Triathlon on Aug 9th in Mullingar. I'm new to Triathlon with only one sprint event behind me (TriAthlone 08).
Just wondering if 2 weeks will be enough recovery time if I was to enter the Dublin City Tri on Aug 24th? Or if I was to wait another week and enter the Carlingford Tri on the 30th, would it make a difference?

It all depends on your level of fitness and experience.

In general its the run that takes the time to recovery from so as long as your form is half way respectable and your not overweight you should be grand.

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely don't have the experience but no weight problem and think i'm fairly fit, cycling up to 75k now, running 15-18k and swimming around 3k per session. Really I was just wondering if its normal to do olympic distance events within 2-3 weeks of each other?

It depends, for some people, doing half ironmen on back to back weekends is normal, for some two triathlons in a weekend is normal. For others its not.

Two weeks should be enough to recover. just eat well, not lots, just well.

Thanks....think I'll wait for Carlingford, pretty sure I'll be well sore after the 9th!
