quicksilver?

    I tried to donwload Quick Silver as a lot of people seem to like it a lot so thought Id check it out ...when I download I get a

    ".bz2." file ? so went the bzip2 site downloaded that which gave me a .tar file...... kinda goin round in circles here Anyone shed any light?

    I am having exactly the same problem too. I've tried to open it with the Stuffit Expander but to no avail:(

    Delete the ".bz2" from the end of the file and choose to use .dmg as the extension. Should open okay then.

    Sorry I was talking about quicksilver istelf, I'm getting used to finder, I can load up programs and files no problem with finder, what extra things should i be doing with quicksilver??

    Well it's pretty versatile, I don't know half the things it can do. It's easy to think of it as a 3rd party version of Spotlight but it's so much more. For example you can use it to play, pause, skip, etc with iTunes. It's ideal for anyone who prefers using the keyboard over the mouse.

    Best to read through the documentation, there's a few tutorials in there as well.

    I used be a massive QS junkie, since it when open source though I hate it. The latest releases (you have to manually look for them yourself in google code) are very buggy from my experience (on both a mba and a macpro) and I've uninstalled it from my machines. I'm pretty sure they've changed the name to Alchemy aswell.
