powering speakers off a car battery

hey i have a set of speakers, built in amp, going camping but dont have anywhere to plug them in would it be possible to power them off a car battery?

It's probably too late if you already have the speakers, but I once got a pair of speakers from Argos that worked three ways... You could leave them passive, or have them active either by plugging them in or sticking batteries in them. Absolute godsend when I was all over the country with my discman, and I was also able to plug them in for music at work

But if you like your speakers and don't want to look for others (mine were somewhere around 7-15 punts at the time), there are plenty of converters to plug normal appliances into car cigarette lighters...

Finally, you could always just play the music in your car's cd-player? As long as you're courteous to fellow campers, of course

hey, i was hoping to get an inverter because i cant actually have my car anywhere near the site, its a good 15 min walk away but inverters seem to be very expensive
