    Hi,
Have been a yahoo mail user for years, but only noticed this today and a couple of weeks ago.
I did file some un-read emails into one of my yahoo folders.
Then logged off yahoo and went back in say 30 mins later, and the emails are gone!
They are not in the inbox, nor the spam folder, nor in the trash folder, and nor in the folder I moved them into.
Same thing happened a couple of weeks ago with one email.
Any ideas what could have happened?
I do use shared computers (internet cafe) but always log off afterwards, and also change my password regularly from my work computer of which I am the only user.
    thanks in advance!

not sure anyone here will be able to help with that. sounds like an issue to take up with yahoo mail support.

Internet cafe's are dodgy places these days. Alot of people put keyloggers* on machines there. It wouldnt supprise me that someone has your account info. Change your password asap before someone else does. As a rule, never use anything more then google in a internet cafe these days.

If it is infact a keylogger, and not a fault from yahoo please name and shame the cafe, well no probbaly best not to but atleast go in and let them know.

Keylogger - This is a program or hardware device that will record all keystrokes, save them to a text file and upload its self the an email address or ftp site which the person that put it there desires.

    Thanks to both.
I did email Yahoo tech support and should get a reply in 12-24 hrs, let's see that happens.
I changed my password this morning as soon as I noticed this.
The strangest thing is that those emails disappeared.
If someone hacked my account and deleted them, would not they be in the Trash folder?
I am very wary of internet cafes, but have to use them for job search as don't want to be caught in work doing that (and don't have a PC at home).
    Catch 22!

You can empty the trash folder too.

I know, but can you empty single emails from the Trash folder?
At the moment there are emails in the Trash folder which I recall I put there myself.
The only emails I cannot see there are those 4-5 which disappeared

Right click and delete works for me.

Outch, I tried and it worked!
So, is the likely scenario that: I went in the internet cafe yesterday evening; this morning I filed those emails into a folder and logged out; the hacker logged on after me and deleted those 4 messages?
    Outch!
From now on, I will change my password after each time I have been into the cafe!
