Has anybody any first hand experience with the new wireless keyboard and mouse? I'm thinking of getting these from the states when a friend goes over soon but want to hear peoples opinions. My major worry is that the keyboard will be too small.

    All opinions are welcome

    Thanks in advance

    S

I have the new wireless keyboard and love it - I do however use it with my Mac Mini which serves as a media center and the small size is a plus for that kind of use. It lacks a numeric keypad and that may be an issue if you do any serious type of coding or other work that requires it on your Mac. The other problem may be the layout of the keys and the "spacing" between them which is very much like the MacBook's current keyboard. Some people love this layout, others hate it - and unless you get to use one (or a MacBook keyboard), it's hard to tell if you'll like it or not. Battery life is excellent (it only takes 3 AAs), as is the ease of connecting it via Bluetooth.

Aye, it's thin, compact and very easy on the fingers.

I also have the new wireless mouse and keyboard and love it. Although no numeric keypad takes a bit of getting used to.

My intention is to install BootCamp and have a small Windows XP partition on the Mac Mini to ease the lady of the house's transition to the Mac but I've heard very bad things about compatability with BootCamp. It works for some people not for others. Basically the problem that people experience is that the keyboard and mouse have to be paired in the Windows OS after each reboot. It's not a Windows issue - it's BootCamp, Apple changed something in the BootCamp drivers and it screwed things up. Rolling back the driver version in Windows fixes the issue for some people not for others.

I have the keyboard and mouse. The mouse, well, you either love or hate the mighty mouse. I dont have any issues with it.

The keyboard is great unless you need a numeric pad. Given its design it doesnt get dirty like regular keyboards do. Its very light and handy for putting on your lap etc
