Still trying to fund raise via poker? I thought they would have given up on that after the last debacle:

We suggested to them as a way to raise money, the last event was ran by CPT(No association with us) and yes maybe it was abit of a mess, We(The Adelaide Casino) are running this one, the only stipulation i had about doing this was that it was a 100% payout event, there will be no messing with the prizepool, if theres 100 runners theres 10000 CASH to be paid out,

Were not even taking any of the reg, its not a self deal, there will be dealers at every table, the casino will be footing the bill for all this, so we would appricate any support you can show.

    Thanks

As its for a charity, I'd have no problems at all with the reg. If I lived a bit closer to ye, I would support it. Best of luck with it. I hope its a success.

    Found this online-

I'd like to take a moment of your time to inform you of the plight of Sligo Rovers Football Club.
In late 2006, the club decided to go from a semi-pro status to full-time, in a bid to challenge the country's top teams and have a shot at playing European football. While the team has been relatively successful on the field, unfortunately the numbers coming through the turnstiles have not been sufficient to pay the ever-increasing costs of running a Premier
    Division football club.
Essentially, full-time football is not possible in Sligo. The club's board has realised this, and the club will most likely revert to part-time football again next season. However, the damage has been done...
SRFC are over €300,000 in the red. If substantial funds are not raised by the end of August, the club will cease to exist in its 80th year. The funds needed by the end of August total €130,000.

And whats worse, they have one of the largest numbers through the gate mixed with one of the smaller wages in the prem, what state some of the other clubs are/would be in without sugar daddies?

Irish clubs should be generating funds through other means than the gate
as clubs in Norway/Sweden do, Cork played a few years ago against a swedish club (was at game and have forgotten name), a member of the swedish club said the difference was the turnover was about 10 times larger for the swede club of which most of their money came from off field activities

    will attend if pos.
Many Thanks to the Adelaide Casino for doing this for the club!

The problem with the last one from a non poker point of view was that the buy in was too big for any non-poker players who wanted to play to support the club, which is exactly who they were hoping to get in, 320euro i think?

100's of people were willing/wanting to play but not at that level

Charity might not be the right word, but they are a club in need of funds, or a club with 80 years tradition might cease to exist. So yes, it would be an act of charity to help in a case like that imho.
