I myself have a lockvogel with 9 or 10 various calls, from a mallard to a rabbit in distress. I must say I definately can't complain about it and it will even bring in the magpies in the evenings if you like an odd jaunt at them too. :D

+1 for lockvogel, have a chip for it with a lamb in distress on it, around lambing time foxy can't get to it fast enough :D

Have to use shotgun & BB's as they don't stop on the way in

I have a u caller which I find quite good but thinking on something new, what with the annual shopping trip (Birr) coming up. Are the lockvogels expensive??

Didn't Clivej post on how to make a really cheap one if you have an mp3 player lying around the house.

little speaker with a battery in it connected to an mp3 player with distress tracks on it.

Fish slapped, that preymaster sounds like a good deal. That whole chicken call sounds interesting as anyone whoever had chickens around the house would know how much like music to a foxes ears chickens are:D

Wish i could get it on the lockvogel now!!! Must look it up:)

I have the Lockvogel as well - works good on the foxes and crows especially.
    Amazing volume out of it.

Never heard they do a lamb distress call - checked their site there and it's not listed either.

Yeah I know Lurcher, I couldn't seem to find it either. But it would be a right one to have. Why lockvogel are so damn expensive is because there is no mechanical sounds when it is playing the call. You can also get a speaker as far as I know which wouldn't be a bad purchase. But to date I defo can't complain about mine. Grrreat tool:D

Hi all, So this is what I ended up with after trying out the mini amp and MP3 player. The sound is very good with the big speaker and the sound travels quite far across the fields. With only the mini amp about 100m was the best the sound would travel.
    From this post http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055320088

    Total cost
    Mini amp under €20
    Speaker €37
MP3 player €19 or use whatever you have. The mini amp will take any input from an ear-phone output jack plug.

Foxpro Scoripon is what I use loads of different sounds. Plenty of volume and remote works out to 150 yds.
