Right at the start. Hellmuth goes pretty ape, what an ass. I wouldn't have even considered this as a slowroll.

    Opinions.

lol....gotta love phil. for me it was'nt a slowroll. He said two pair and threw over KK with 33 on the board...he di'dnt say anything else.

    Maybe others disagree?

It happened to me once at a home game. A bluff I made with mid-pair was called on a paired board. He declared two pair, with pocket kings or something. I remember being pretty annoyed at the time, but I kept my mouth shut.

Hellsmouth pulls this kinda thing at least once every tv game, its to get air time for his sponsorship agreements!?
Have heard pro's pull him on it, he got really embarrased looking once when
right in the middle of a rant some bloke he doesnt get on with starting laughing and asked him if he had got enough air time yet

Well the guy admitted a little later that it was kind of a slow-roll so maybe he had a point [/live noob]

I think he only apologised beacause Hellmuth was ranting so much.

...and completely sold out the guy who was backing him up. He shouldnt have apologised, just expect it from hellmuth and enjoy the show.

It wasnt a slowroll by any stretch!

If hed turned over 33 it would have been a sweet slowroll.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 450 ✭✭Blip

It was just Phil ranting to deflect his station play in that hand, also his mouthing in that hand got him into sh1t later "You think if I had trips the chips were'nt going in" .........then with Alan he flops bottom set and pushes and announces "I think I have the nuts" .....how foolish does he look.

I watched this last week. The guy just proves himself to be a bigger asshole every time i see him.

I think Baxter really didn't have a clue where he was in the hand and was probably a bit surprised to see he'd won it after Hellmuth had instacalled on every street. Never a slow roll though. The big gobsh!te just needed something to moan about.

And Baxter too was out of line for "owning up" and apologising, especially after your man with the purple hair stood up for him.

Yeah that was an interesting week of PAD. I didn't think it was a slowroll either, and Hellmuth's reaction was priceless.

On the later hand (set over set) his comment to Allen where he said "I have the nuts" (with BOTTOM set) was ridiculous.

He had a blowup in a recent WPT final table too... on his exit interview with Layla Kayleigh, he was saying how the amateur (CL at the time) might have a chance at getting it. Layla said "You were an amateur once, Phil". Phil said "Is that it with the questions?" and walked off in a huff. :)

Yes, this is completely true IMO.

In no way is that a slow roll!

Last night when dealing, someone slowrolled AA preflop, showing one and then waiting around 10 seconds to show the other. Straight away I one outed him on the flop :)

the best slowroll ever was in the crying game, yer man actually threw up from the shock of it. but if he was paying attention to the game he definitely would have put yer woman(?) on a pair......never seen anyone slowrolled so cruelly as this..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,267 ✭✭✭DubTony

    on a pair ..... LMAO :D:D:D

If you were being pedantic it was a slowroll. They are sitting right next to each other so its not a big deal.

The guy looked a bit embarassed when he was a accused of it. Hellmuth lost...so he bitches.

    Why so?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,755 ✭✭✭tylerdurden94

Cause he said what he had and turned his hand over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,542 ✭✭✭glenjamin

Gotta love the way Cunningham busted him on the very next hand:D:D:D

I hardly think Baxter meant to slowroll him either. He basically showed his hand at the exact time he announced 2 pair. Hellmuth just being bitter thats all.

Wow, just looked at this now and i got to say that it definetly is a slow-roll.
He got to know he's ahead of Phil when Phil he flat calls. By saying 2 pair he is looking for the reaction out of phil. Also, if he admits to this IMO he defo knows what he was doing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,472 ✭✭✭AdMMM

He just admits it to him because he doesn't want Phil yapping the ear off him for the rest of the hand.

Slowrolling would be humming and hawing and then throwing over quads. Instead, he announced his hand correctly and turned it over instantaneously. I see nothing wrong with it.

Seriously?? I will say this once again noway is it a slowroll, i dont think he knows were he is in that hand. The only reason he apologised was because Phil kept banging on about it and im sure he felt uncomfortable.

No i don't agree, he definetly knew he was slightly slowrolling.

Yes i agree, but that is the extreme of slowrolling. This IMO is a form of slowrolling.

    ..

Of course he knows where he is in the hand. He bets the river, phil flat calls. There is no hand possibly beating him.

I got mixed up there for a sec, i havent seen the hand in awhile so i went back and watched it. He says "two pair" and flips his hand straight over how on earth is that a slowroll?

I don't think it matters on the length of time it takes for him to flip over his cards. He said 2 pair before the cards were seen. Phil picked up on what he said and thought that he's 109 had a great possibility of been ahead. The hand that he is thinking, for that split second before he sees his cards, is most likely an underpair.
I don't think this is bad out of the guy, or think Phil's blowup is justified but i can see where Phil is coming from.

Isnt the very term of a slowroll when you drag something out?? He did not drag it out. Your man isnt a seasoned pro like Hellmuth. Exactly what you say there he thinks he is ahead so he gets a shock when your man flips over KK obviously Phil didnt think he was that strong and took a bad reaction. As far as i know there is only 3 people who think this is a slowroll, Hellmuth, yourself and a guy on the other page.

I so so so wish I did that to The Champs when I hit quad 9's once. Was so close to announcing 2 pair just to watch him and John O Shea do there silly Doo Riddley dance. Bah woe beguils these missed opportunities.......... Such a sweet slow roll would have been... Adam still has nice hair.

ps this was not a slow roll imo. Hellmuth just being a knob
