    Hey all,

Story is been going out with the boyf a few years now. the past few months he's been unemployed (although he is looking)and all he wants to do is watch films and smoke weed. im generally grand with a night chilling but its been like this for months.

ive been trying to suggest stuff to do that is cheap or i'll pay for- to little avail. cant seem to muster up much enthuasium. esp not for nice walks (which he sees as pointless unless youre seriously training)

even when he's not smoking he's still happy enough to slob about the house. he's not depressed i dont think, he seems happy enough to potter about the house. but im just very bored of it. i do my own thing most of the week but we hang out 2 maybe 3 evenings a week. and for the past 7 months we've just been staying in.

has anyone got any EVENING date ideas for a pair with little money? or any tips for getting someone out of the house?

in the dublin area. have a car so can whizz about at least.
    cheers

Could you go to the cinema? Not too exciting an idea I know but it doesn't require too much effort and would get him out of the house for a few hours.

A walk in Phoenix Park, comedy club, some tapas approx (€2 /3 each), walk in Dun Laoghaire, Shelbourne Park etc etc

Its Dublin - there is plenty to do!!!

He has money for smoke but not do to thing with you ?
20 euros a month gets a person an unlimited cineworld card which is only a fiver a week.

The international comedy club is €10 per person for about 2 / 2.5 hours of entertainment, usually have 4 or more comedians, the odd time you get some of the big names calling in. Well worth the money.

people who have difficulty mustering up enthusiasm for any sort of activity should lay off smoking drugs.
There's sod all to do in this country that doesn't cost much money apart from going for walks, playing sport and drinking that's why there's such a culture of drink and drugs here.
Cinema is good idea. Park is good idea. Botanical Gardens is supposed to be a nice place to go for dates. Most places along the canal. The wicklow way starts in Marley Park which is within walking distance of the luas. You could get a coach out to gendalough for a day cheaply enough. There's the zoo, museums and galleries that are cheap enough or free. You can walk along the cliffs from bray head to greystones which is really nice. There's nice beaches in a few places around dublin. Plenty to do when the weather is nice like this really I'd say your real problem is his drug-assisted apathy rather than funds.

How about one of the films in Meeting House Square at Temple Bar? Tickets are free, just pick them up in advance.

I had a date there and it was lovely--brought a blanket, sneaky glasses of wine, great film. With drinks beforehand it was a great night out for around twenty bucks :)

Great idea, Ha'penny Bridge Inn, E7 on Wednesday and Sunday's. Some great comedians, pretty big names in fact, laid back atmosphere and it's not going to cost much, and doesnt go on for too long - finishes around 11.00/11.30. Great fun,:)
