The farmers barley was taking a right hammering during the week especially on some lodged winter barley so i got down their as quick as i could.. the field i shot over was stubble, i ended up with 133 pigeons 12 crows and 2 grey crows..! best so far this year:D

I've used the air pro crow & pigeon - very good ...seem to really attract them in.

I see L.R. Active are selling them in crow, greycrow, magpie & pigeon

i bought my spinner in england so i did at a fair and im afraid its a bit of a home made job (i was'nt thinking and tried to save about £20). thankfully iv discovered that the arm from the air pro spinner will fit on my main spinner so im gonna pick up one of the as my metal arms seem to be very heavy. also the clips on top of the spinning arms seem to be very handy.

on another note, i wonder how long these magnets will be available in ireland. i know they are illegal in france and with the popularity of decoying growing, will it be long before the powers that be see it as an unfair advantage to the shooter?

true enough stevo hope it doesnt happen any time soon! , wonder was the french president talkin 2 biffo about it when he visited :D

My magnet is a homemade job, though i just invested in a 4 arm magnet to really draw them in.;)

I just bought a set of these pigeon air pro decoys i got them assembled and attached to my rotary but for some strange reason the wings won't rotate whilst spinning round on the rotary? why is this.

i would think that you have the wings faced the wrong way. 1 is counteracting the other. that could be it not sure. i have 2 pairs on order should get them tommorrow. made up a pair yesterday. They actually worked fairly well today. The real ones should be better thou

I got great shooting over stubble last week. Going down to shoot over barley saturday. Good field wit no other fields around

If they harvest you cant shoot!! There has to be crop nearby and stubble is fair game if there was a crop nearby. Thats a good bag and you probably shot at a pile that you missed. I think the decoys are good for getting your first 2 pigeons but then I switch to the real thing. I would be interested to hear how the 4 bird one does??

Id say u have the wings faced the wrong way or maybe the decoys are at the wrong angle on the magnet..;)

Swaped the 4 arm magnet a few months back, got a gud deal;) didnt notice much difference between it and da ordinary one to be honest..
once ive taken a few birds i change them as well, nothing better then real mr pigeon!! i find the ordinary magnet with a couple of bouncers and decoys do the trick!
what set up would u use?

oh nearly forgot, cartridges are too pricey to be missing a pile alan;)

Yes thats why im shootin 'over' barley like i said! Shot over stubble in a completely different area which has plenty of crops around! Hence the goin 'down to shoot' i have to travel.

I set up a 'U' pattern into the wind with the magnet at the nose of
the U or sometimes at the end of one of the "legs" of the U. I think just a 2 bird magnet does the trick and get them curious/interested. Even if we have 2 magnets with us we just put out one or set up a seperate hide at the other side of the field and play a bit of pigeon tennis!!!!
I hear ya on the ammo but hey, thats what its all about, I fired 500 rounds the last day I was out and probably shot a 3:1 ratio. Expensive, and I couldnt afford to do it every week, but what the hell, I dont often have big days. Dont hold back on the ammo, get it up there!!

I do put a few crows decoys a bit away from my pigeon setup. Draws them in aswel!

I do too sometimes and I also put a magpie out last time but Im not sure if it helped me or hindered me???? I was in a field recently and the pigeons were feeding down the other end near the road. I was toying with putting an owl down the other end to scare them up my end of the field. How many decoys is too many!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

farmer across the field from me is having the same problem, rang the local gun dealer and he has 1 motorized pigeon decoy left €50 so i told him to hold it for me :D

I sometimes put a greycrow with a U/V pattern but keep him well away from it, pigeons reckon its safe if a grey/magpie is nearby.:D

ordinary crow decoys beside da pattern defiently work dusty, try puttin one on a bouncer as well ;)

20 decoys is loads to start off with, any dead birds i shoot i add to da pattern...

if their feeding at da other end of da field just put up a few sticks with plastic bags tied on, that should put them up your end of da field for da day;)

€50 is very cheap for a magnet! They are usually €150+. If anyone wanted an owl for their collection you can get them at a gun dealer for about €40 but the recession tip of the week is to go to b&q where you can get them for €20 in the vermin control section!

I dont know does anyone do this but i seen it in a magazine recently. Get good tying wire and bend it into shape to put pigeons you just shot into the decoy pattern. Bend a u shape for the body and another for the head, So they look like there just sitting there.
