Anyone got any information on Crosley in Ireland ?

A guy I know has a 1946 Crosley which was imported from USA when new,
by Brittains ,or Lincoln & Nolan , Dublin.
It was imported to assess the feasability of assembling them in Ireland !
It was later decided to build the Morris Minor instead......
This car was kept by the garage until about 1950 ,when it was registered & sold.
It has only covered approx 5k miles since new ,mainly as a result of an engine problem.

The Crosley had an innovative 4 cylinder engine ,the CoBra ,( derived from
COpper BRAzed ) Its sheet metal engine block was problematic as well as
sounding like a diesel ! By '49 a castiron block was used...

    It had mechanical brakes...

The Irish car is believed to have been displayed at a show around 1981 in the RDS , Dublin

Below is a pic of a similar car ,the Irish one is black..

Anyone got any info. on the Irish car ?

This car was up for auction in September '85 in the R.D.S.
It was ran by Templeogue Motors.

Whilst rummaging through some stuff this evening I knocked across an I.V.V.C.C Journal from Summer '82.
In it there was an article written by Richard Warbrutom in response to a letter from Jim Cullen regarding 'missing' cars.

    "Crosley Sedan (alias Crosmobile).
Extremely rare in RHD, imported in 1946 approx to evaluate C.K.D assembly of American cars by G.A. Brittain, as you know they built Morris Series E instead.
The Crosley was taken to Cork shortley before the Brittain failure by Bill Swanton (of the bus fleet that C.I.E put off the road) Colour: Black"

So Bill Cullen mioght be able to shed some light on its history or possibly Richard Warbrutom?

Would that be Richard Warburton Kev ??

I know a chap of that name involved with the RIAC and he is/was a Motor Vehicle Accessor in the 1990's. Could be the same bloke ?

.............I'd say it was a typo since the name Warbrutom doesn't show any listings at all on Google.
